Wideband Array-Fed Fabry-Perot Cavity Antenna for 2-D Beam Steering

We propose the design and testing of a 2-D Fabry-Perot structure based on multilayer (ML) slab arrangement fed by circular array simple sources. Such class planar leaky-wave (LW) antenna can be made low-loss commercial laminates, it is bounded top subwavelength partially reflecting surface. The designed to suppress undesired radiation from quasi-TEM mode while leaking power excitation fast TM1 leaky mode, which perturbed version guided-wave supported corresponding parallel-plate waveguide. An accurate dispersive analysis for ML developed, an original feeding system optimized provide needed wideband impedance matching. Thanks translational invariance enabled homogenized nature screen, used as radiating element in LW-enhanced phased array, constituted vertical probes generate directive pencil beams steerable at single frequency azimuth changing elevation.
